I don't know how many of you have heard of the Fantastic Four. It is a comicbook that's been published since 1962. There have been numerous cartoons. And there have been a couple of FF movies made in the last couple of years, 2005, and 2007 to be exact. Seen the '05 one. It was all right.
But there was a 1994 FF movie that was never meant to be seen by anybody. It was shot, edited, prepared for release, in theory, but never came out. It was done to retain a copyright. Nobody told the director, the actors, nobody.
I remember reading about the movie in a trade journal 15 years ago. I kinda knew it was in trouble when I learned that Roger Corman was the mastermind behind it. He doesn't spend 5 cents more on a film production than he has to. He hasn't lost any money over the years doing it, so I guess I can't argue with success.
This film never came out, but for many years illegal dupes have been available at comics conventions. Someone put a copy up on youtube, and I am providing a link to it now. Sue me.
There is a mythos about this film. Some prefer this el cheapo production to the big budget ones made in the last couple of years.
I got this from Fred Hembecks' site.
