Part four of Star Trekkin'.
I publish them here as soon as I get 'em. I guess I am the official Canadian provider of Mark Dooley comic strips. I feel blessed.
I like Mark a lot. He has been kind to me over the years in ways that might bore if I told you about them, or at least make you think I was off my rocker. Suffice to say that he is one of the good ones.
His comics work is very fine. I love the little injokes he inserts here and there. Yes, Mark, I get the Zot t-shirt. Is Scott McCloud a particular favourite of yours? And calling the laptop "core" is a nice touch, too.
I know that Mark has strong Christian values. Several people reading this blog feel the same way. I am not sure why they read this blog. Either they really, really like me, or perhaps it is a place where I tend not to cuss very much. This is out of partial deference to them, and to my sister, who also read this blog; but mostly it's because I just feel that one should be able to express himself without resorting to swearing. I don't always practice what I preach, but I do try, more than some people I know, and do strive to improve.
Anyway, the Christian values in Mark's work are one of the things that attract me to it so much. It is gentle, and non proselytizing , and that goes a long, long way with me.
Mark, keep up the great work, my friend.
I have a busy frigging day tomorrow. Toastmasters provincials contest to participate in in the morning. I will walk out there in front of 40 or 50 people, be given a question I have never seen before in my life, and have to talk about it for 2 minutes. No pressure at all.
Actually, the Zot shirt is a Flash T-shirt, one of Sheldon's favorite comic heroes on "The Big Bang Theory".
Many thanks for the lovely comments and the warm reception my strips have gotten here. More to come!
Does he ever wear a Zot shirt? Is it always a Flash one?
Oh, did you misspell JJ Abrams name, or am I mistaken again?
Keep the strips coming, Mark. And feel free to comment about any of my posts!
All the best!
