Part four of Star Trekkin'.
I publish them here as soon as I get 'em. I guess I am the official Canadian provider of Mark Dooley comic strips. I feel blessed.
I like Mark a lot. He has been kind to me over the years in ways that might bore if I told you about them, or at least make you think I was off my rocker. Suffice to say that he is one of the good ones.
His comics work is very fine. I love the little injokes he inserts here and there. Yes, Mark, I get the Zot t-shirt. Is Scott McCloud a particular favourite of yours? And calling the laptop "core" is a nice touch, too.
I know that Mark has strong Christian values. Several people reading this blog feel the same way. I am not sure why they read this blog. Either they really, really like me, or perhaps it is a place where I tend not to cuss very much. This is out of partial deference to them, and to my sister, who also read this blog; but mostly it's because I just feel that one should be able to express himself without resorting to swearing. I don't always practice what I preach, but I do try, more than some people I know, and do strive to improve.
Anyway, the Christian values in Mark's work are one of the things that attract me to it so much. It is gentle, and non proselytizing , and that goes a long, long way with me.
Mark, keep up the great work, my friend.
I have a busy frigging day tomorrow. Toastmasters provincials contest to participate in in the morning. I will walk out there in front of 40 or 50 people, be given a question I have never seen before in my life, and have to talk about it for 2 minutes. No pressure at all.
