Post 1643 - Just Watch Me

A change of pace for Bevboy's Blog.  Here is the full interview conducted with Pierre Trudeau in October of 1970 during the October Crisis.   This is the famous "Just Watch Me" interview.

I'm amazed by this.  I don't think I had ever seen the entire piece before this evening, just clips over the years.  I'm amazed because there is no way in friggin' heck that any reporter could even get that close to a major politician and ask him those kinds of questions any more.  Try doing that with Stephen Harper; he'd ignore you if you were lucky.  If not lucky, you'd be threatened by one of his thugs.  But in 1970, and for years afterward, you could just walk up to the Prime  Minister of Canada, and maybe even the President of the United States, and just ask him challenging questions like the ones you'll see if you but play the clip.

You're welcome, by the way.

More in a bit.
