Post 1722 - A Sense of Accomplishment

I am back in the city and about to turn in a bit early.  I got a lot done today.

This morning the electrician came by Mom's house and helped me fix a couple of lingering issues with wiring in the home.  Very happy to report that he had no problem doing what had to be done. That's a yay in the plus column.

Not long after lunch, the handyman came  by.  Together, we tarred part of Mom's roof to prevent any further leaks.  There was a very tiny hold around the chimney.  A bunch of tar slathered like peanut butter around the chimney, and it should be as good as new.  Another yay in the plus column.

I returned to the city mid-afternoon.  I decided to drop by the radio station to pick up the phone I had won on Friday.

It is a Motorola Flipout smartphone.  It is square, but you flip it to reveal a full qwerty keyboard.  Once charged and hooked up to a data plan of some kind, I can surf the web with it, update this blog, maybe even make phone calls.  Patricia already covets it.

I returned to my house around 4pm.  Newbie was glad to return here, and especially glad to see Cindy again, and  even more elated to eat something.

I got a lot done today.  An annoyance with respect to wiring was fixed.  The roof was tarred on my mother's roof.  And I got this cool lookin' cell phone.  It was a vacation day, but hardly a vacation. But at least it ends well.

See you tomorrow.
