It is 8 days since my last blog post. The bulk of that time, nearly all of it, I have been home resting and trying to get over this cold and flu combo.
It's been a strange sickness. Some days I felt almost as though I could return to work. Other days, I'd drag my arse out of bed 10 or 11 in the morning and accomplish little more than watching Bill Mahar or a movie.
Tonight, my cold symptoms are pretty strong. This afternoon, the flu symptoms kicked in. Great fun.
I am still planning to return to work on Monday the 19th. Wish me well.
Newbie has been sweet this week, for the most part. After being fed, he'd usually come back to bed and keep me company until I got up, whenever that might be. He might sit there, Sphinx-like, for hours and hours, one eye cast on the bedroom door and the other steadfastly on me. I'd almost think he cared about me until I reminded myself he was a cat.
The blog? I missed it but more than once wondered if it should come back at all. I'm not sure how many people read it or give a shit about its existence other than me. But it's back because I'm (mostly) back and missed this avenue to express myself. Besides, I have all those Blog business cards kicking around the house. Can't let them go to waste.
Over the coming months I'll double up on blog posts so that there'll be at least 366 blog posts for 2012. Sort of like doubleheaders in baseball. Except I don't get sports at all, so that's an inappropriate analogy. Please come up with your own.
Of course, several of the posts will be radio-related interviews. Look for a few of them here, soon!
