I am back in the city after a full week away. I return to work in the morning.
Shortly after lunch, I washed the few dirty dishes in the sink and cleaned out Newbie's litter box and took said box downstairs. I loaded up the car. I placed Newbie into his carrier, even though he didn't like it too much. And I got in the car.
It was a pretty decent working vacation. I certainly got an obscene amount of sleep; it was almost as if I had been bitten by a tsetse fly or something and the sleeping sickness had been the result. But, no. It's just the way the Valley rolls for me.
Patricia ran across the house when she saw me, in slow motion, like they do in the movies, only in the movies it's usually a meadow full of lush green grass, to greet me. I met her half way, running in slow motion as well. It was sweet. She prepared dinner and we watched the most recent episode of The Good Wife through video on demand and then she sent me down here to clean out the litter box in the next room, and so I could write this her blog post.
It is nice to have internet access again. It was catch as catch can last week. The BlackBerry can only do so much. I found the odd wifi spot and used my netbook a few times to good effect. Otherwise, at my mother's, it was either the BB or nothing. After a few days, I didn't miss it that much.
Tomorrow, I will get up much earlier than I have got up in more than 10 days and go in to work. It means getting up at 5:30 or so. I don't look forward to that. Who does look forward to getting up at 5:30, unless it's a person who usually get up at 3:30?
Oh, my hair is still looking awesome. Here's a webcam pic to tide you over.
Someone's had too much coffee. Not naming names.
See you tomorrow.
