Post 2156 - I'm Still Alive

I am back home from the dentist's.

It was a very long appointment.  Dwight from work drove me there.  I arrived at the dentist's about 2:50.  I had taken 2 of those anti-anxiety pills and took a third one for good measure.  I was ushered in to the torture chamber around 3:10, and remained in there for more than 2 hours.

I was given some more meds to freeze the mouth.  It is just wearing off now and the masked pain is coming to the fore.  During the procedure I bit my tongue a good dozen times.  If I showed it to you, you would think I had made a snack of it.

The dentist replaced the filling that had popped out.  He fixed another filling behind it that was probably 25 or 30 years old.  He applied a temporary crown today; I will have to go back in a couple of weeks to get the permanent one installed in my mouth.  This all happened while my mouth was stretched into shapes and sizes it was not meant to go in.  I am beginning to feel that pain now.  It will get worse before it gets better

Tonight, for a the first time in a few weeks, my tongue can move along the area where the new filling now resides.  It has not been easy, and it will remain difficult as the shards of my tongue recover and the pain in my mouth subsides.

I am turning in early tonight.  I will write you all tomorrow.
