Post 2271 - Ah! That's Better

I am pleased to report that I got the printer work this evening.  It is now hooked up to my network.

Sort of.

What happened was, I decided it wasn't worth the effort, the heartache, the pain in the tuchus.  I took another tack. I could hook up an existing Samsung printer to an existing desktop, and share that printer with my network.  (If I had had a printer that had an ethernet connection, I could just hook it up directly to my router, but I don't.)  I did that, and am switching over my other machines to notice that network printer and print to it.  Patricia has already printed off some coupons to this printer, and she's happy.  I am just glad I got it working finally, and found that I didn't need the wifi printer I got for 50 bucks in the end.  This means I can sell it to my friend Ken.  It is a very good printer, and prints duplex, and has wifi.  It was a clearance item and I got an excellent deal on it.  But I don't need it, and am happy to see it to go to someone who can make better use of it than I can.

The only thing is that I have to keep the computer on at all times; the monitor can be turned off.   Not what I had wanted to do, but I have no intention of spending the coin getting a printer that has an ethernet connection.   No biggie.

I feel such a sense of accomplishment.  I think I can take on fixing the world economy now.  Maybe devise a workable solution to the Middle East issue.  Or find out how they stick ships in a bottle.

Yeah.  I'm gonna do all that.

After I eat some bon bons.

See you tomorrow.
