I started Sunday at my mother's. I cleaned out her freezer and left it unplugged to enjoy a retirement that all electronics eventually get. I drove to my sister's. She had been freezing some hamburger that was getting ready to go bad had she not done so. I returned to the city.
I got back home just in time for the carpenter to put in his day. I am so thrilled to announce that both the front and back decks are now usable. The railings are up on the front deck, but not the back one. I just have to be careful not to walk up or down the stairs of the back deck whilst in a drunken stupor, to avoid falling off and splitting my head open.
In the afternoon Patricia and I went through a bunch of my clothes and tossed them in a garbage bag to be donated to one of those bins that accept donated clothes. The people at my work will be pleased to learn that the long-sleeve shirt I used to wear that had the salmon-colored pin stripes is gone. You will never see it again unless you happen to be in the store that eventually ends up with that shirt and buy it out of a sense of nostalgia. If you do, please let me know so that I can make fun of you wearing it.
After they left, we had dinner. I parked myself in front of Netflix and by 8pm was gently floating off into that good night. I didn't even spend much time on my new decks. Shame on me.
Everything looks really good so far, eh? I can hardly wait to spend all kinds of time and money staining or sealing the decks!
See you tomorrow.
