I have just spent the better part of 3 hours trying to configure the old desktop computer a neighbour gave me a few years ago. I seem to have fried something somewhere.
The computer doesn't power up any more. I connect everything, and it just doesn't power up.
Thank goodness I had completed my most recent Frank column and emailed it off to my editor. That is a good thing. What is not a good thing is what I may have done to the computer in question. Also, the contents of the 3 hard drives in the machine may or may not be usable. Things are backed up, but even so.
Why do I always take on these tasks so late at night, when my brain is frazzled and my faculties are not what they should be?
Maybe it is the power supply. Maybe I wasn't fully grounded and I fried the motherboard. Maybe ... I just don't know.
Too tired to think.
See you tomorrow. Or, technically, later on today.
