This was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable tie excursions I have ever had, in my 7 years of doing this thing.
I am standing outside of Sailor Bup's Barbershop on Sackville Street, just off Brunswick. It is owned and managed by Mark Peyton, fellow Valley boy and betrothed to Floyd of Live 105.
I had decided to get my hair chopped off and massaged and everything else here and get pictures done doing it. So I took an elongated lunch hour and picked up Patricia and drove there. She got most of the pictures.
She took a few dozen pictures, and I doubt if you want to see them all. I will just put up a few. The rest of them are on my Facebook, so go there.
My barber's name was Brad. It probably still is Brad, come to think of it. He took me under his wing. We decided on a good hair style, and away he went. 90 minutes later, I walked out with my hair parted on the other side, and longer up top, with a long taper in the back. I was freshly shaven. For the first time in my damned life, I had the full hot towel shave with a straight razor. Feels amazing. And I know that I look amazing. And looking at these pictures makes you look and feel amazing, too. I can't help it.
My thanks to Sailor Bup's in downtown Halifax, to Patricia for taking the pictures and paying for this procedure, and to me for thinking of it in the first place.
I hope you like it. I know I sure do. I can hardly wait to go back.
See you tomorrow.
