Post 2850 - Sunday

Hi.

I am back from the Valley. I had quite a few errands to take care of down there, so I did. I came back this afternoon.

There is not much else to report. I just realized that since I am taking a half day of vacation on December 24th, that we only work two days this week. This is the 21st. Monday is the 22nd. And Tuesday is the 23rd. We won't be returning to work until the 29th. Five days off work. I like that.

This also means that there are only two more entries in this year's Bevboy's Christmas Tie Extravaganza. The 22nd is booked. We will be driving to a new friend's home in Dartmouth(!). He is a radio buff like me, but that passion has manifested itself in ways different than I have. He has an actual studio in his home. Years ago he rescued old acetate tapes from a radio station that was moving to new digs. These tapes contain content from as far back as the 1930's. He has gradually been digitizing this stuff. It goes without saying that if not for him, this audio would not exist. And I get to see his production studios tomorrow night. I am looking forward to it very much.

Tuesday's picture hasn't been nailed down yet. I am not sure what that will be. I will think of something.

I have had my shower for the evening. About to sit down to a quiet evening of tv watching, after I finish listening to CBC's "Cross Country Check Up", which is all about old Christmas traditions. They are discussing the famous 1914 "silent night", where the French and British on one side, and the Germans on the other, declared an informal trace, shared the holiday, and refused to fight one another. This went on for a couple of days, apparently. When offices found out, they freaked and forced these guys to go back to war.  Strangest thing. Here is an article about it.

You guys have a good night.

See you tomorrow.

Bevboy
