My weekend is here! Yay.
After work this evening we went to the Value Village in Bayer's Lake. I ended up finding a copy of a book I'd wanted for a long time, and it was only 3 bucks. In 1973 or so, Barry Broadfoot put out a book about Canadians' experiences during the Great Depression, sort of like how Studs Terkel did the same thing in the U.S. This book is long out of print, and now I have a copy. There were some other books by Broadfoot as well, including the one about Canadian Japanese internment camps during the War. I passed on that one.
So, tomorrow morning I will get up comparatively early and go to the Valley for a day or two. Saturday I will look high and low for a better spatula for here. Not just any spatula, either. A hard plastic one, one that doesn't melt when it gets too hot, nor break arbitrarily, nor scrape certain kinds of cookery. It is a tall-ish order I have set out for myself. I just hope I can achieve it.
I think I will turn in. Getting excited.
See you tomorrow.
