I have been sitting on this news for a couple of weeks now, and am finally able to announce it.
I have got a promotion at my work.
I won't get into all the times I have been disappointed over the years. All the times I applied for a job, only for that job to disappear or be redeployed somewhere else. So, this time, I approached the job with the attitude that this same fate could happen again. This time, it didn't.
The interview was to have been in early January, but there was a storm that day so it got postponed to the 17th. It went well enough three weeks and one day later, February 8th I think it was, I was made the offer. I accepted it on February 12th. And it took effect today, February 26th. My new pay rate will not be on the paycheque that comes out this week, but rather the one that I get two weeks after that.
People from my work read this blog, so I am not gonna get too far into the process or anything like that. Let's just say that the result turned out to be positive for me, for a change.
So, given the bump in pay, the public service award payout, a bit of overtime here and there, perhaps some standby from time to time, my Frank Magazine side work, things are looking up financially for me. Which makes, like, one in a row.
The money will come in handy. I want to replace some windows in the house, which I am sure are original to the property. It is long overdue to have this work done. Now, I should be able to save up the money and not build up any more debt. It is a much more attractive option for me.
On that lovely note, I think I will turn in. I was up crazy late Sunday night and have to re-establish my sleep pattern.
See you tomorrow.
