Post 3994 - Monday Night Good Times

I really should come up with better blog post titles, huh?

So, how was your day? We are taking plenty of precautions with the lockdown. We went to a place in Bayer's Lake to fill the propane tank for the barbecue. Would have preferred  not to go but we need it in case the power goes out or something, and the tank was going to be empty sooner rather than later. Also went to Superstore to get a few provisions. Patricia bought some soil for the garden. We plan to grow lots of veggies this year. She also saw a nice piece of salmon for half price. After dinner tonight, I cut it into three smaller pieces, put them into food saver bags, and placed them in the freezer. We have a tremendous amount of salmon in the two freezers. We never seem to get tired of it.

I don't think we need to go anywhere for several days. We have plenty of food here. The bills are paid. We could have things much worse. We are blessed.

A friend told me about an app he discovered recently called Checkout51. It is in the app store. I am usually wary of such things, but I decided to give it a shot. You download it and register on it. It finds deals for you at local grocery stores or wherever. The cool example he cited was one regarding Jif peanut butter. Superstore has a deal for another day or two where if you get two 1KG jars of Jif peanut butter,  you get a free jar of Smuckers Jam, your choice of flavour. Plus, where you buy the pb&j, they have instant coupons for a dollar off each jar of peanut butter. Plus, with the app, you can get one additional dollar off each jar. My friend got the two jars of peanut butter, the free jar of jam, for a total of something like six dollars. That is a tremendous amount of stuff for very little money.

Thank you, my friend. We will both try out the app for a spell. And thank you for pointing out that I am now on a fixed income. Appreciate that. Yep.

We will be hunkering down for the next several days. I wonder what we will snack on?

It is past 1am. I think I will turn in.

See you tomorrow.
