Well, I hope that the few yahoo's who had their parties and good times are happy now. They have ruined it for everyone else.
The province enters a near-total lockdown at 8am Wednesday morning. For at least two weeks, schools must close. Can't get your hair cut. Stores selling things not deemed to be essential must close. No inside gatherings. The message was repeated many times. Stay home.
We are.
Other than taking out the garbage in the morning, and picking up the mail 50 feet up the road, I haven't left the house all day. Patricia literally didn't leave the house at all. We have a short list of groceries we want to get, but we figure it can wait for a little while.
I can't get over how ticked off I am at the people who just don't get it. They think the rules do not apply to them. They think they are invincible. They do not care one flip about anybody else. It is these very few people who ruined it for everyone else. It is these very few people who created super spreader events that have resulted in 96 covid-19 numbers on Tuesday. This time last week we were at, what, 10 or so. Before that, we would often go days and days with practically no new cases, and it was not unusual to go for a week or more with zero new cases.
This is where we are. For at least two weeks. Businesses must close, and are once again imperilled. People are stressed to the max. Jobs are threatened.
Are those people happy now?
I have been trying to keep the blog lighter in tone lately. We all need to have some respite from what is going on in the world, but tonight, I am not up for it. I'm just not.
Patricia used to work with a woman who moved out of the province years ago. Lives in another province now. Every week or so, she sends out an email blast to several people, including Patricia. She writes that Covid-19 is no worse than getting the flu. It is overblown. She quotes obscure "medical" sources.
I keep asking Patricia why she tolerates that crap from that crazy woman. She just looks past what this woman writes and tries to remember when she was sane and rational. I would have dropped her long, long ago, because she is one of those crazy people who don't think the rules apply to them, etc.
We all have to stay home and worry about jobs and finances because of people like her.
How do you feel about that?
See you tomorrow.
